It all started as a verbal disagreement between two strong-willed and highly opinionated panellists on a morning newspaper review programme at a television station.
A panellist believed the other had cast insinuation at his credibility and sought to repay in kind. What seemed a harmless discussion soon generated into a heated debate of a sort and opinionated as the discussants are, none was willing to yield even a foot let alone a mile to the other. Thankfully it never got violent.
To one panellist, the other’s conduct was not reflective of the high Office he worked in and therefore lodged a complaint of a sort with the holder of the office. The holder of this high Office was not given an opportunity and the respect he deserves to answer when some persons who believe they possess the best of vitriolic tongues took it upon themselves to repay in kind and teach the other a lesson in throwing allegations and to use a better word mud at the panellist who had dared to lodge a written complaint. Sycophancy at work indeed!
They were given a ready platform by a radio station seen to be sympathetic to their cause.
So on comes a female Regional Minister who ought to be more concerned about assembly members passing a vote of no confidence in a DCE in her area of operation, where pre-mix fuel is being poorly handled.
In tow is a deputy minister whose ministry superintends a water producing company which is threatening to open its spill ways which has the potential of flooding many homes and destroying business when half of the population it is supposed to serve lacks access to clean drinking water. And to cap it all it is interesting to note that a former cadre who says his life is to engage in public interest litigation does not find it necessary to side with the legal actions by AFAG and the Consumer protection association –what hypocrisy!
They took turns in heaping insults, insinuations and the like at the woman panellist. A flag bearer aspirant who is being given a run for his money by other aspirants in the party’s up-coming election has not been spared the brunt of their insult. For the sake of the piece and
